Meta: You can now share your thoughts in a new way with WhatsApp voice status feature

Whatsapp just added a new feature that lets users record voice messages for up to 30 seconds and post them as status updates for their contacts to listen to. The variety of content that can be shared through the status feature will increase with the addition of voice notes, which will have a 24-hour lifespan before disappearing.

In 2017, the meta-owned messenger debuted the status function, which at first let users share images, videos, GIFs, and text updates. The company has now made it possible to share voice notes as status updates due to the platform's growing popularity for voice chatting. The demand for this service is increasing, as evidenced by WhatsApp's announcement in March of the previous year that it was processing an average of 7 billion voice messages every day.

Additionally, WhatsApp is improving the status feature by including status reactions, which work similarly to the message reactions the company debuted last year. In addition, users may now designate the audience they want to see their status updates, giving them more control over who sees their messages. There is additional control over privacy and visibility thanks to the ability to preserve and apply this audience option to all upcoming status updates.
