The feature to delete accidentally sent messages from other people's chat windows has been available in WhatsApp for a long time.
But there is a flaw in this feature called delete for everyone and that is that if the sent message is not deleted within a limited time, then there is no benefit.
But now users will have more time to delete a message.
Until now, a message had to be deleted within 68 minutes using the Delete for Everyone feature.
But now this limit has been increased to 2 days and 12 hours.
The Meta-owned app announced in a tweet that the feature is now available to all users.
💭 Rethinking your message? Now you’ll have a little over 2 days to delete your messages from your chats after you hit send.
— WhatsApp (@WhatsApp) August 8, 2022
It should be noted that it was being tested in the beta version of WhatsApp for several months, but now it has been introduced to all users.
You need to update WhatsApp (if not already) to use it.
Note that WhatsApp introduced this feature in 2017 and at that time 7 minutes were given to delete the message.
Later in 2018, this time was reduced to 1 hour 8 minutes 16 seconds and after 4 years it has been increased further.
In contrast, Telegram and Instagram have no time limit for deleting chats.
